As we approach the end of another year and the holiday season is upon us, we would like to wish you safe travels if you are travelling and a peaceful, happy holiday with your family and friends.

We, at iWMS, recognised that there are people in our communities who do not have the basics in life and at this time of year we think of the children.  In an effort to give back to our community, we decided to spend our year end party and customer gift budgets in making a difference to a few lives.

Our Durban Team helped Tholuthando Children’s Home, an orphanage which houses 38 abandoned children in Embo, Hillcrest.  We spent the day fertilising the Home’s vegetable garden, planted new vegetable seedlings, repaired the washing line, replaced the shower curtains, created a garden at the entrance to the Home and hung a welcoming picture there as well.

Once all the work was done we, together with East Coast Radio, hosted a Christmas party for the children and staff with jumping castles, hamburgers, chips, drinks, sweets, popcorn, candy floss, party packs and cakes.  Each child was given a “Santa Love Box” which comprised an item of clothing, stationery and toiletries.  It was a day the children and their “mothers” will remember for a long time to come and a rewarding and happy experience for our Team in Durban.  Please go to ECR website to view the festive fun that was had by all.

In the last couple of years, iWMS Johannesburg have been working with Rebonwe Primary School in Ivory Park.  Rebonwe is a non-fee paying school with 2 047 children at the school.  Whilst the facilities are clean, the buildings are in need of maintenance.  We were requested to paint the bathrooms whilst the teachers painted their classrooms.  It proved to be hard work which did not phase us and we rose to the challenge and enjoyed doing it with much chitter chatter and laughter.  We finished the day with a celebratory braai with the teachers which gave us a chance to really get to know each other.  We left the school tired but invigorated, with a feeling of accomplishment and happiness and ready to do the next task requested of us which is to repair their computers.

We would like to thank the many companies who gave willingly and enabled us to do more with our budget than what we had planned.  East Coast Radio arranged the kids party; CS Bridal Couture for a month’s groceries for the Home and party packs for each child; Chateau Gateaux for the cakes; Digital Express for McDonalds hamburgers, chips and drinks; Tony Miller Promotions for the interesting jumping castles, popcorn and candy floss; Crazy Concepts for cooking kits for each child; Labora Shoes for the boxes for the Santa gifts; Mink & Manure for 1 cube of compost; Impala Meat and Warrior Paints for their generous discount for the meat and paint.

May the festive season fill your home with joy, your heart with love and your life with laughter?

The iWMS Team!
